Beach Cottages

Renting a beach house with friends is the best way to experience Crystal beach. There are a number of subdivisions consisting mainly of weekend beach houses, which can house 6-12 people. Many of these are available to rent. Houses are equipped with full kitchens and most also have washers and dryers. NOTE : They do not have maid service. You can get linens upon check-in. Also you want to be sure to bring your own soap as they do not supply it. Think staying at a friend's summer cabin - not the Holiday Inn...

There are RV Parks, additional real estate companies renting beach houses, bed and breakfasts and hotels. You can go to the Crystal Beach website a look around for other available options. The hotel options are pretty austere. The main one is the Joy Sands Hotel. Their phone number is 409 684-6152 Rates are about $90.00 per night. You might want to go online and get some reviews to see what others have had to say about the property. The hotel's website is Joy Sands Hotel . Additionally you might look to Galveston for rooms.

Camping at Stingaree
There is "primitive" camping available at the venue for no charge. There is a large field to the back of the property. There are no facilities other than port-a-johns.

You can camp on the beach. (See Things To Do for information on Beach parking passes) You can also drive on the beach. Campfires are allowed but there are no facilities!!! (Tip: Most beach houses have outdoor showers. Make friends with someone that has a beach house and see if you can use their shower.)

Fort Travis is on the western end of Bolivar Peninsula close to the ferry landing. There are cabanas to rent for the night and also camping sites. Cabanas are $25 per night and the camping sites are $20 per night. Restroom facilities are nearby. Contact Galveston County Parks Department for reservations (409) 934-8126.
